February 19th @ 1:19 p.m. from a friend:

Laura, dear...You and me, the oldest here, Baby Boomer Hippies...we spoke the same language and sang the same songs.  This on will always make me think of you:

"Oh the sisters of Mercy, they are not departed of gone.

They were waiting for me when I thought that I just can't go on.

And they brought me their comfort, and later they brought me their song.

Oh, I hope you run into them,

you who've been traveling so long."

February 19th, @ 1:37 p.m. from a friend:

Laura was one of the people you don't often get to meet.  She was genuinely kind, she was genuinely committed to her life & beliefs, and she was genuinely loved.  I feel truly honored to have known her.

February 21st @ 9:36 a.m. from Tyler Gilpin (nephew):

I remember spending long weekends with my Aunt Laura when I was younger.  We wouldn't really go anywhere, I would just stay with her at her house and we'd talk for hours.

I didn't know it then, but these were some of the most important moments of my entire life.  She has had such a profound influence on me.  I don't want to to know what kind of a person I'd be without her.

Laura taught me everything that I know about kindness.  She taught me everything that I know about hope.  Because of her, I know that the Universe still contains magic if you'll only step closer or back away.

I love you, Aunt Laura.  Thank you so much for everything you've done for me,  I am who I am because of you.

When I am not sure, I think of the twinkle and urgent gestures of this radiant star.  Then I know we have to charge forward.  She would not have wanted it any other way.
