Laura had a very special relationship with my son (her nephew) Robert Tyler Gilpin.  They were kindred spirits from the very start.  Since Laura never married, nor had children of her own, we often felt that Tyler was the son that Laura never had.  Starting at a very young age, they would spend hours together with Laura pouring her soul and spirit into Tyler.  After Laura moved from San Francisco to Fairhope, AL, she took Tyler to San Francisco when he was around 14 years old.  One of the many memorable adventures that they shared together.  ​
