Bill Davis was a gentle soul and very shy.  He owned a nearby nursery that Laura happened upon.  She went back several times in hopes of meeting Bill.  It actually took our mother's help to make the introduction.  They quickly became dear friends.  After Laura's diagnosis, Bill bought a simple engagement ring and proposed.  They never married.  Bill died about a year after Laura did.  

Laura is buried in the Colony Cemetery in Fairhope, AL

After Laura's diagnosis, all of her close friends from both NY & CA traveled to Fairhope to spend time with her.  It was a wonderful time to gather with family & friends.

Holiday's were always memorable in our home and a rare opportunity for all of us to be together.  This would have been either Thanksgiving or Christmas circa 1964.  Shown is Mom, Dad, Liz, Laura & Rob
